Uniform
Edlesborough Primary Academy encourages pupils to take a pride in their appearance and we would ask all parents to support our school uniform policy.
Wearing a school uniform is also about taking a pride in your school and we would like our children to be good ambassadors for the school when they are out and about and within school by looking smart.
All uniform will be available to view on the Wear2School website from mid-June at the latest, please click on the link below where you will be able to access the online shop. Free delivery service to the school https://wear2school.shop/

Outdoor Shoes
All children should come to school in black, flat heeled school shoes. (No laces in reception please.)
Black trainers, converse pumps or ballet pumps are not acceptable.
In the summer children may wear navy blue or black enclosed toe sandals providing these provide adequate support for their feet. Socks must be worn at all times. Open-toed sandals are not allowed in the summer at any stage.
Wet Weather/ Snow: In the winter children may come to school in boots but these should not be worn inside school and children must change into normal black school shoes upon arrival.
Hair
All long hair must be tied up at all times – this helps to prevent the spread of head lice and is more practical for working.
‘Extreme’ fashion hair styles are not appropriate for school e.g. using large amounts of hair gel/shaved patterns or grade one cuts.
Only plain blue or black hair accessories are allowed. Please note that headscarf type headbands and overly elaborate hair accessories are not allowed.
Jewellery and nail varnish
Jewellery should not be worn at school, with the exception of watches and plain gold or silver stud earrings. Children will be asked to remove studs for PE or ideally not come to school on PE days wearing earrings. Covering with tape is not considered safe practice by Buckinghamshire County Council and will not be allowed.
If for religious reasons you wish your child to wear any other items, please send a letter to that effect to the Headteacher.
Make up and nail varnish should not be worn at any time.
PE Kit
All children are expected to change for PE for health and safety reasons and need a separate PE Kit.
Having the correct equipment sets high expectations for the lesson that follows. Increasingly our children are participating in sports festivals where schools take a pride in their sporting appearance and we encourage Edlesborough children to represent their school by having the correct PE kit.
PE Footwear
All children are expected to change their footwear for PE for health and safety reasons.
All indoor PE lessons are done barefoot.
For outdoor PE all children require trainers. Reception children will not require outdoor footwear until the summer term and therefore are unlikely to need tracksuit bottoms.
Football boots may be worn when appropriate.
Swimming
Children going swimming are required to follow the rules of the pool:
- All children must wear a swimming hat
- Swimming costumes, not bikinis or tankinis.
- Swimming shorts or trunk, not baggy Bermuda shorts
- Goggles can only be worn with a note explaining the need from the doctor
PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM ARE LABELLED CLEARLY
