Cross Country Festival (Thursday 24th October 2019)

A huge well done to all the competitors in today's Cross Country Festival at Tring School. The weather was miserable, but the children were all in high spirits. GCSE Students at Tring School warmed them up before they took part in a series of races; Y1/2 mixed, Y3/4 Girls, Y3/4 Boys, Y5/6 Girls and Y5/6 Boys. Despite the rain and mud, they all did fantastically and we are very proud of them!

Well done to Ralph, Laurence, Christopher, Jake, James, Nicholas, Blake, Harry, Cody, Henry, Maya, Alina, Isobel, Maggie, Isabella, Maisy, Carys, Maisy, Harry, Summer, Kardalen, Erin and Florence.

Due to the weather, the presentation ceremony was cancelled. They will be receiving their medals and certificates in assembly.

Well done Edlesborough Netballers!

On Friday 10th May, an A team and B team made up of Years 5 and 6 pupils went to Wingrave Netball Club to take part in a High Five Netball Tournament against other local schools; Brookmead, Cheddington, St Michaels, Ashmead, Long Marston and Wingrave Netball Club.

All the children played amazingly and once they got into the swing of it, their play improved with every match and we scored a few goals!

We are so proud of them, although a special mention goes to Samuel and Lily for their outstanding effort and willingness to get stuck in! A huge 'Well Done' to Salih, Isobel, Isabelle, Isabella, Theo, Samuel, Lily, Summer, Sian, Annie and George.

Well done to the two teams!

KS2 District Cross Country Championships

There are four races, Year 3/4 Girls, Year 3/4 Boys, Year 5/6 Girls and finally, Year 5/6 Boys. It is a tough course with a steep hill.  A superb effort by all our competitors, although a special mention to Archie and Jack who dominated their races.

Well done!

Well done Jack! (Year 5)

In February, Jack swam in the Bedfordshire County Championships, he qualified for 4 events having met the entry times and previous galas.
The events were: 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly.

He made it through to 2 finals gaining PB’s each time he swam. He came 6th in the 50m butterfly final and 8th in the 50m freestyle final.
Having gained all these PB’s and the greatest number of points in his age group he was awarded the age 10 FINA County Champion for 2019.

Jack has to commit a lot of his free time to training for these events. Super effort Jack!

Youth Leadership Day

On Thursday 24th January, a group of very enthusiastic pupils from Year 5 and 6 went to Stoke Mandeville Stadium to attend a training day.

They completed activities throughout the day to train them to help support Mrs Gough and lead sports at Edlesborough Primary Academy. As part of the day, they all received a t-shirt with their role on the reverse, they will wear this at school when carrying out their role. These children will join our current Sports Crew who have already completed the training.

See more about them on our Sports Crew page!
