Quality of Education

Strategic aims:

  • Development of all aspects of the teaching of the teaching of Phonics and early reading as a support school on the English Hub programme
  • The writing curriculum ensures the highest outcomes across the school including Year 2 and Year 6
  • Resources, including books, are providing the best possible support for reading at home
  • Transition to KST Primary Knowledge Curriculum phased over 20/21

Behaviours and Attitudes

Strategic aims:

  • The aspects of negative behaviour mentioned in the Ofsted report are eradicated
  • School consistently manage behaviour for learning with whole school strategies and agreed approaches
  • Expectations of pupils reset to highest aspirations

Personal Development

Strategic aims:

  • SEND is a priority group including the development of the new SENDCo
  • Inclusion becomes the key principle especially for the children with an EHCP
  • Support staff are developed to fully impact children's personal development
  • Ensure there is a robust PSHE curriculum to ensure the children are able to transition back into school successfully in September

Leadership and Management

Strategic aims:

  • Core subject leaders to be developed to ensure sustained improvement
  • Align governance arrangements with KST model

Effectiveness of the Foundation Stage Provision

Strategic aims:

  • Further improve the use of assessment in Pre-School
  • Develop a relevant CPD programme for Pre-School staff

Learning Environment

Strategic aims:

  • Relocate library to the old Victorian classroom as part of improving the reading culture of Edlesborough School
